TPMS Schwarz's P Surface {6,4|4}p

A part of an ongoing research on Metal Additive Manufacturing and new material applications for powder-based systems.

Fully printable 3D model showcasing the shape and structure of a Schwarz’s P surface polyhedral surrogate (ps) - a plane-faced triply-periodic polyhedron homeomorphic to the corresponding {6,4|4} P TPMS (triply-periodic minimal surface).

The regular skew polyhedron {6,4|4} is an example of a ps of a TPMS. It corresponds to Schwarz's P surface, hence the notation {6,4|4} p.

Using Autodesk Fusion360, I explored the geometrical interconnections of regular vertices, and explored the perspective tricks to achieve satisfying optical illusions.

The resulting model is fully watertight and optimised for PA12 polyamide on selective laser sintering (SLS) systems, but can effectively be printed on other no-support powder-based additive systems (including copper using the green laser).
