Procedurally Designed Complex Polyhedral Geometries for Metal Additive

 

GeoMagic is a series of procedurally-generated complex 3D geometries aiming to challenge the current limitations of the laser powder-bed metal additive manufacturing process (DLMS).

Progressively more challenging geometries are designed to challenge the limitations of the current systems and to assess the effects of:

  • internal stresses

  • heat dissipation

  • heat build up

  • gas build up

  • support removal

  • cleaning/ powder reclaim

  • part finishing (including iso finishing)

Originally intended for tests in Stainless Steel 316L, Maraging Steel, Tooling Steel and Titanium Ti64 on “hot“ powder-bed metal printing systems.
